Ever seen the Dock on the right-hand side of the desktop?
Well, you can... on the latest build of the beta

31-01-2.001

As you know, the version of Mac OS X that Josb showed at the Expo was not the Public Beta that we all know and love; it was not even beta 4k17, the latest known version to make the testers' round. And of course it has us curious.

So we investigated a bit, and had the luck to come across a message from a trusted party saying thus:

"I'm enclosing a screen capture of a functionality change that was not annonunced at San Francisco, this is the possibility of setting the Dock vertically against the sides of the desktop. To be able to see it, you need the 4K17 version of the Beta (it won't work with the Public) and typing this into the "Terminal" app:

defaults write com.apple.dock orientation right

defaults write com.apple.dock pinning end

The capture shows as well the availability of hyerachical menus in the Dock when you place folders or hard drives in it"

All the elements in a single dock
